Best 10 Tips For SUSTAINABLE LIVING

Every day, we’re bombarded with new and exciting ways to live better helo health and lifestyle oracle. From veganism to adopting children, it seems like there are an infinite number of methods of living sustainably these days. But while they may seem like they’re just the latest fad, these tips might actually change your life for the better in a big way! Here’s our list of 50 best tips for sustainable living that you might want to consider:

1) Invest $100 in your health each month and do something healthy-related –

1% of Americans spend $100 per month on personal health yet nearly half don’t maintain a healthy lifestyle or eat properly. Think about how much further that money would go if you invested it in something other than your laziness. Get a gym membership and make a commitment to go every day for a month as an example. You’d save $1000 and you might even start exercising regularly afterwards!

2) Buy used whenever possible –

Not only will this save you money in the long run, but it can also help the environment. In fact, when the resale market picks up, they’ll be at thrift stores – and you can get some great deals on them! And if it really won’t hurt to be brand new, then buy new but remember to recycle after you’re done with something.

3) Give things a different purpose –

If you no longer need something, give it some new purpose! You’ll often find these items have completely different values than they did originally. And remember that used items are never dated, so there’s always a chance to find something better in them.

4) Buy something smaller if you think it’s worth it –-

Saving money usually means that you’ll have to make some sacrifices. If you’re going to finish off a large purchase, maybe opt for a cheaper size of the same item. After all, the savings are made up within the next few weeks or months when you make purchases on other items.

5) Start a worm composting system –-

Composting is cheap and will provide you with free nitrogen and food for your plants. It also helps the environment by filling it with rich, fresh soil that allows plants to thrive – giving you benefits that regular gardening doesn’t. In fact, you can even find worms in stores ready to be composted right now!

6) Buy damaged items used –-

This method means that you’ll get more bang for your buck. And if the item is still in working condition, then it’s really a win-win situation! There’s no need for a second-hand shopping channel – just buy things that have visible damage such as ripped seams or torn packaging.

7) Shop at thrift shops if you want to save money –

Trying to get things for free can be frustrating. There are times that it’s just easier and more efficient to buy something new. But eventually, you’ll come to the point where you’ll want to shop second hand because you’ve run out of storage space, money or time and would prefer not to spend tons of cash on something that’s already sitting in your closet or pantry. And the best part is, shopping at thrift shops is almost always a great deal.

8) Buy the right size first –

Well-made items usually fit well, but sometimes you can find that a few sizes are smaller than the others, this could be because clothing is designed to fit tight. If you’re a tall person who has trouble finding clothes that fit in the waist, then buy something a little bigger and take it to your tailor for adjustments if needed. If you’ve been purchasing clothes at regular stores from the sales rack, then consider dressing smarter by buying suits or button downs from places like JCPenney, Sears or Macy’s where they have their own private label labels available for much cheaper prices without all the outlet connotations.

9) Use less plastic –

Plastic pollution is a serious issue. An estimated 4.8 to 12.7 million tons of plastic enter our oceans each year, and even though recycling is becoming more standard, it’s still not as common as it should be – especially in the United States. We need to reduce the amount of plastic products we buy and use at home, so be sure to look for alternative packaging such as recycled cardboard or paper where you can find them.

10) Always shop online –

Considering that almost everything you can find on Amazon can be shipped for free (or very cheap) this should come as no surprise for anyone looking for alternative ways to shop easier and cheaper. Also, you can find many things that are sold online that would cost more if you went to a traditional retail store, such as household appliances. This is especially true for people who live in major cities or states where there are luxury brands available – by purchasing items on the free shipping sites like Amazon, you can save tons on just about everything.
