How do you know which smartphone is best for you? Which one will give you the most bang for your buck? 

This list is designed to answer questions like these by presenting a bunch of really cool options in all different price ranges. Obese Tuber

#1: iPhone X – $999+

If I had to pick the perfect smartphone, the iPhone X would be it. 

It comes with an edge-to-edge (or nearly) 6.5 inch OLED display, 8 MP dual cameras on the back,

 and two new sensors on the front for Face ID in addition to Animoji. 

The phone is available in Jet Black or Silver, in 64 GB or 256 GB capacities.

 Battery is not removable in the standard model so you’ll have to get one of the dual SIM variants with a nano-SIM slot.

#2: iPhone 8 Plus – $699+

The iPhone 8 Plus has it all. It is larger than its predecessor (which has always been an issue since the iPhone 4), 

comes with a whopping 6.5 inch display in a body that’s just 6.1 millimetres thick,

 has an improved processor in the A11 Bionic chip, adds dual cameras with optical zoom to the rear and, very unusually for Apple,

 a front-facing TrueDepth camera.

#3: Pixel 2 XL – $849+

The Google Pixel 2 XL is another weird one to describe because it’s not really a new phone so much as different variants of last year’s phones. 

It has the same processor but with 4 GB of RAM instead of 3 GB for the smaller Pixel 2.

 It also has the same 5 inch display but still only comes in 32 GB rather than 64 GB at this price point. 

There’s also a smaller version with a 5 inch display and smaller battery, and an XL-sized model 

with a 6.3 inch display and all the hardware accessories of the standard Pixel 2 XL at a lower price.

#4: Galaxy S8 – $599+

The Galaxy S8 is Samsung’s answer to the iPhone X.

 It has the same screen as the iPhone X but slightly larger body dimensions due to its larger bezels all around. 

The S8 comes in 64 GB variants as well as 32 GB and 128 GB models, which is not that common for such expensive devices, 

but still quite unusual given how much storage you get with this phone. 

The large Galaxy S8 Plus with a 6.2 inch display is also available, but at the time of writing is over $100 more expensive.

#5: Galaxy Note 8 – $950+

We are huge fans of the Galaxy Note series here at AndroidGuys. 

The Note 8 isn’t all that different from the S8, but it adds some niceties including dual 12 MP cameras for both front and back on

 an otherwise very similar body to the S8.

 The biggest difference between this device and the S8 is the S-Pen which allows you to draw or write on your screen, 

adding a layer of functionality that some cannot do without.

#6: LG V30 – $599+

LG also has a very interesting take on the smartphone. 

While it’s not an actual “midrange” phone like the Galaxy S8 and Note 8, because of Android One 

 a lot of other factors we thought we’d include an LG device in this list. 

The V30 is a pretty great phone and best in class for this price range (we’ll show you the competition later), and

 comes with dual cameras on both the front and rear as well as HiFi Quad DAC for headphones. 

Moreover, it now has IP68 water and dust resistance ratings as well as wireless charging which is something to consider if you’re into that sort of thing.

#7: Pixel 2 – $649+

The second generation Google Pixel phones are here! 

The “Pixel” versions of last year’s device have been updated without a smartphone processor update, which is a bit of a bummer. 

Even so, they still offer dual 12 MP rear cameras with optical zoom and EIS for stabilization, as well as a front-facing camera with HDR+ processing. 

They also have the same 5 inch displays as before, but now come in 32 GB and 128 GB variants.

 The smaller Pixel 2(s) will be available once again with a plastic shell to improve durability and shatter resistance.

#8: OnePlus 5 – $479+

The OnePlus 5 is the second half of the announcement duo from OnePlus this year, 

which presented upgraded versions of both last year’s phone and their new flagship in one fell swoop.

 The 5 comes with the same processor as the 6 but with an 8 GB variant for an extra $30 which also nets you a much larger 128 GB of storage.

 It comes in Midnight Black or Slate Gray in 64 GB or 128 GB variants, and unfortunately does not have NFC if that is something you care about.
