The Orthopedic Innovations blog is a place where Orthopedic surgeons, Orthopaedic residents, and Orthopaedic surgical fellows discuss the latest advancements in Orthopedics. In this post, we will explore how technology has changed Orthopedics. Stylecluse will be discussing 3 different ways that technology is changing the practice of Orthopaedics.
Technology has opened up new avenues for orthopaedists to innovate and improve patient care. It’s also helped make things easier on doctors by allowing them to do more without having to physically touch anything!
Orthotic devices are used to help people who have medical conditions like Cerebral Palsy, stroke, or Parkinson’s Disease improve their walking and balance. Orthotics can be custom made for a patient. By taking an impression of the patient’s feet using plaster, silicone-based putty or foam material after it has been soaked in water to make it soft. These impressions are then sent to a lab where they’re turned into casts. This will allow orthotists (specialized shoe makers) to create the required device that fits perfectly onto your foot!
Next we’ll discuss arthroscopic surgery which allows Orthopaedic surgeons to see inside bones through tiny incisions instead of making large bone cuts as was done in the past. Orthopaedic surgeons are now able to treat conditions that were once very difficult. Or even impossible, like certain hip surgeries and ACL tears!
Arthroscopic surgery enhances patient outcomes by reducing pain and recovery time while also improving surgical precision. Orthopaedists use advanced technology like robotics during arthroscopic procedures to allow them greater control than they’d have with their hands alone. It is important because muscles can move bones in unexpected ways causing inaccuracies when doing manual manipulation of a joint or limb.
And finally we’ll talk about how Orthopaedics has been revolutionized through digital imaging technologies such as MRI’s (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and CT scans (Computed Tomography). Orthopedic surgeons are now able to use these devices to diagnose Orthopaedic conditions without having to physically touch the patient.
MRI’s and CT scans allow Orthopaedists to read images of internal body structures. Allow them greater insight into Orthopedic issues than they had before! In many cases, instead of a doctor relying on their own examination skills or what patients tell them about how they feel doctors can rely on an image that is much more accurate!
These technologies have revolutionized Orthopedics. But this blog isn’t just focused on discussing Orthopedic Innovations, it’s also a source for learning about new methods in treating ortho-related issues as well as ways you can prevent problems from occurring at all. Take some time to explore Orthopedic Innovations by reading past posts, checking out our library of Orthopaedic articles and don’t forget to sign up for updates!
Technology has opened new avenues in Orthopedics that allow doctors to be more precise and improve patient outcomes.
Orthotics are devices made specifically for a person’s foot using casts taken from impressions or through robotic technology used during arthroscopic procedures such as knee surgery. Orthotic devices help patients with conditions like Cerebral Palsy, stroke, Parkinson’s Disease walk better and balance easier.
Arthroscopic surgery allows Orthopaedists increased control thanks to use of robotics. This gives them greater accuracy than manual manipulation alone would due to muscles moving bones in unpredictable ways especially in joints that are hard to reach. Orthopaedists can now diagnose Orthopedic issues by using MRI’s and CT scans. It doesn’t require physical contact with the patient – allowing for greater insight into Ortho-related conditions than ever before!
Orthotics improve walking ability thanks to robotic technology used during arthroscopic procedures like knee surgery. Orthotic devices help patients who have medical conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, stroke or Parkinson’s Disease walk better and balance easier while reducing pain and recovery time.
What do orthopedic surgeons specialize in? Orthopedists treat injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, which includes your bones. Orthopaedic surgical procedures include minimally invasive surgeries (MIS), hip replacements, knee replacements and more! Their focus is on preventing disability while restoring functionality to their patient’s body.
Most people think that all they need to know about a surgeon is what kinds of procedures he or she performs. However, there are many different specialties within orthopaedics such as spine surgery , sports medicine and even pediatric subspecialities . Orthoindy serves patients throughout Pennsylvania with board certified specialists who have access to advanced technologies like MIS and robotics. Orthopedic surgeons are highly trained and skilled physicians. They have an extremely important job to provide their patients with the best possible care through procedures and technology that may not even exist yet!
OrthoIndy is a group of independent, board certified orthopedists in Indiana. It offers both medical and surgical treatments for all musculoskeletal conditions. Their goal is to help you feel better fast by providing high quality patient care as soon as they can.
