Percentage Calculator with 5 Easy Steps

A calculator is an easy tool to use for most math problems, but what about when you need to calculate a percentage? When you need to take the total cost of a purchase and divide it by the cost per item, there’s no doubt that a calculator is one of your best friends.

That being said, you may also find yourself in need of a percentage calculator when calculating your taxes.

Whether it’s for personal or professional reasons, calculating percentages can be difficult without an accurate calculator. 192 is what percent of 600

This article will give you an easy 5-step percentage calculator that you can use to calculate any percentage, including percentages of totals and percentages of other amounts.

Here’s a little more on why this calculator is called the “simple steps” calculator:

Step 1: To find the percentage of one number, multiply by 100.

Step 2: To find the percentage of another number, multiply by 100 and then divide by the first number.

Step 3: To find the percentage of a third number, multiply by 100 and then divide by the second and then divide by the first.

Step 4: To find the percentage of a fourth number, multiply by 100 and then divide by the third and then divide by the first.

Step 5: The final step to finding your percentage is to add all results up.

To use this simple steps calculator, simply enter your numbers into any of the given fields. Then go over each “step” in order (from top to bottom). It’s not quite so simple.

So here are the five steps to find the answer with ease.

Step One- Plug in the number or value you are being asked for in your fraction or question.

Step Two- Take 100% and divide it by the total amount of numbers in one whole, including fractions.

Step Three- Multiply the answer by 100.

Step Four- Write down the decimals for that % of each part percentage.

Step Five- Add all the decimal parts together and then raise each decimal digit to its own power until you have done all the numbers. If you have done this, you should have your answer.

 Here’s an example:

What percentage of the number 1,800 is 600?

Part A- What Percentage of 1,800 is 600?

Part B- Write the answer in decimal and then convert to a percentage.

Part A- Multiply 1,800 by 100%. We use 100% because we are multiplying by a percentage.

Part B- 1,800 * 100% = 1800%. Write 18 as your answer.

Step One- Plug in the number or value you are being asked for in your fraction or question. Instead of just putting in 600, put in 0.6 (600 divided by 1,800).

Step Two & Three- Take 0.6 (0.6 * 100%) and divide it by the decimal amount of one whole (1.8).

Step Four- Write down 0.6 as your answer.

Step Five- Add all the decimal parts together and then raise each decimal digit to its own power until you have done all the numbers. If you have done this, you should have your answer.

An example:

What percentage of the number 1,800 is 600?

Part A- What percentage of 0.6 is 1,800?

Part B- Write 1.8 as your answer and then convert to a percentage.

Step One- Plug in the number or value you are being asked for in your fraction or question.

Step Two – Take 150 and divide it by 1,800 (this will be used later with Part B).

Step Three & Four – Take 150 and divide it by 1,800 (this will be used later with Part B).

Step Five & Six – Write down 150 as your answer.

Part A- Multiply 1,800 * 100% = 1800%. Write 18 as your answer.
