Why aren’t all slot games available for mobile?

As we live in an age of instantaneous information, it can be frustrating when something we’re looking for online can’t be found just by a few taps on our mobile phones. After all, isn’t the internet there to serve all our needs?

The technological evolution of mobile phones is staggering. Few pieces of technology have developed so far, so quickly. Just think back one decade – we still needed to do our shopping in store. Think back two decades – cheques were still common to pay bills. Think back three decades – calculators still existed.

Mobile phones are swallowing up a huge number of electronic gadgets and rendering them obsolete. It’s not too far fetched to hypothesise that in another 50 years, we’ll be able to go to the pub by downloading an app on our mobiles and strapping on a VR headset.

It’s estimated that 95% of the UK population owns a mobile phone today. That’s in stark contrast to the year 2000 when less than half the population owned one (47%)1.

When you see figures like this, it’s no surprise that mobile play casino slots have taken online gambling by storm. More and more people are signing up to slots on their mobiles. This begs the question:

Why can’t I find every slots game on a mobile?

Nearly every online casino will offer its users a mobile casino app for the games they supply. These games can then be played from the comfort of your own sofa by using your mobile device. As long as you have decent internet connection and any type of advanced mobile device such as a Windows Phone, Android Phone, or iPhone, you’re good to go.

However, it is impossible for an online casino to fit their entire slots game listing into one mobile app. Although this will very likely be possible in the near future, for now, some games are still limited and not offered to mobile users.

Although this is frustrating for some, complex algorithms are carried out by the casino sites in order to work out which games are the most popular and most frequently played. Once the casino site knows this information, there’ll be a hierarchy of games which are made available for mobile apps, and the less popular games according to these algorithms are the ones that don’t get transferred across.

The future will change what’s available

As stated above, as mobile phones get ever more sophisticated, mobile gaming apps will get bigger and bigger, and there will be very few differences in the content available on a mobile phone when compared to a laptop or a desktop computer.

Once online casino sites can transfer across their whole library of gaming content over to a mobile, it is highly likely that mobile phones will start the slow process of rendering more gadgets obsolete. These could be the desktop computer and the laptop, and it may happen in our lifetimes.

Yes, it seems strange, but watch this space.
