Every year lakhs of students apply for the exam for admission in various streams. Hence, the competition is extremely higher.

Why Is CUET Considered The Most Important Among Others?

The CUET national entrance exam has various significance for the students. The exam doesn’t stick to a particular stream like other entrances. It conducts exams for different undergraduate programs and integrated programs. It also provides the language of the exam in 13 different chief languages. The exam is conducted in around 547 cities in India and 13 cities outside India.

A total of 53 universities accept this national exam, including central, private, and deemed universities. Before, the students used to attempt the exam in pen-pencil-based mode, but now the advancement in technology has made the exam more convenient for the students. Now, the students attempt the test in computer-based online mode.

Provides Equal Opportunities For Every Student

Every student dreams of getting admission to their preferred university. But due to the requirement of higher weightage in Class 12th, the student doesn’t get equal opportunities, and their access to admission gets declined. But the conduct of CUET it is providing fair chances for all the students to give their best in the common entrance test.

With fair opportunity, it is letting the student prove themselves by qualifying for the test and letting them get admitted into their desired universities. But the exam also considers the 12th percentage. The eligibility demands a weightage of 50 % to the CUET marks. Due to this factor, the Class 12th percentage and entrance weightage are balanced.

Gives Ranking Clarity

Some entrance exams don’t refer to revealing the students’ ranks because of 12th merit-based admissions. This made the students move from one university to another. But with the introduction of the CUET national exam, it is expected that students will not be unclear about the ranks they achieved and get confused about the colleges to which they will be eligible for admission. CUET provides a clear ranking to provide a clear idea of their university preference. This ensures they focus on getting admission to the particular college without any problem or confusion. This has become extremely helpful for the students.

Provides Equal Opportunities To All CUET Accepting Universities

This is another major reason behind the question Why is CUET important?“. It provides equal opportunities to every university despite being private or deemed. Some entrances give major focus to the central universities and less significance to the other universities. Due to the equal chances provided, many universities around the country accept the exam.

On the other hand, some universities have their cut-off system, while others offer admissions based on entrance exams. Due to this system, some universities become highly popular, and others lack recognization and get stuck behind. But with a common entrance test like CUET, these issues are getting solved, and the universities are getting an equal chance to fill their seats and offer admission.

End To Subject Bias

The CUET exam is an end to subjective bias. If a student wants admission in B.Sc Physics with a good score in the subject in the previous academic year – 12th standard but cannot get admission due to low score in other subjects like Biology and Chemistry, it becomes subjective bias. The CUET is the right way to overcome this issue. The CUET allows the student to give an exam based on their domain subject. This helps them to focus on their field of interest.

Conducts Exam For Different Undergraduate Programs

The CUET allows admission into different undergraduate and integrated degree programs. Now the students can be admitted to a particular stream based on their preference. You can prepare for the particular stream which you aim to continue for higher studies and keep your entire focus on the subject.

End to cut-off

The CUET has become an end to the cut-off system in universities. It has created its own dimensions. Each university needs to get involved in the common entrance test, and the admissions process is processed based on the merit strategy of the CUET, which also adds the weightage of the Class 12th standard marks.

The significance of CUET national entrance proves it is the most important exam in India. It has become a fair mechanism for the students and universities. Now, it’s time for the students to focus on their subject or stream of interest and get admission to the desired university.
