Maria Georgieva was a 17-year-old girl who went missing from the Ruskin area of Denton, Texas on January 26, 2016.
The first time that she was seen after she went missing was by her mother Ludmilla Georgieva and stepfather Stefan Petrovych.
They saw her in the parking lot of a dollar store in Katy, TX.
The last time Maria was seen alive is at 3:00 pm on January 30th at an apartment complex in Katy called
The Reserve at Katy Trail by one of her friends who said they looked like they were arguing before Maria
walked away and never returned to their friend’s apartment again.
The next day, on January 31st, her mother and stepfather went looking for her.
Her mother discovered a charred body near a farm field about 5 miles from their home.
Her remains were found on the 31st at around 7:25 pm by a local resident with a pair of bolt cutters
Who came across the remains while he was working with his son to clear some brush from the field.
Officials later confirmed that it was indeed Maria’s body that they found with dental records and DNA testing among other things.
Maria’s parents have a theory that she was abducted by someone, but some think it might have been a suicide.
Others think that the person responsible for Maria’s death is either her boyfriend or one of his friends.
Her family believes this based on the fact that he went from being helpful in trying to find Maria after
she disappeared to not being cooperative with the police when they were investigating him.
In addition he changed his story about seeing her last from what he had previously told the police and what he had told Maria’s family.
He later admitted to using marijuana with Maria on January 27th, 2016, which is when she went missing.
This led to a Marijuana possession charge for him.
Police have searched the area that they believe she was in when she died with cadaver dogs, but nothing has been found.

So, here we go:
On January 26th, 2016 at around 10:00 am Maria and her mother Ludmilla went to the dollar store in Katy,
TX where Maria worked to buy some candles for Ludmilla’s upcoming birthday.
Once they got back into their car they were approached by a stranger walking along I-45 who asked if the Georgieva’s lived in Ruskin.
The Georgieva’s said that they did and they drove home.
Maria’s mother asked Maria what she needed to get at the store and she told her
she was getting a few things for her stepmom who was having a birthday on February 4th.
She got out of the car, went into the store, came back out with some candles, and put them up on display in their storage unit.
Maria asked her mother if they could go home to pick up Ludmilla’s birthday present.
When she got home two hours had passed so she passed by the police cruiser parked outside Ludmilla’s home to look at it.
She then went inside to call Ludmilla who sent her back out because they were still waiting for elizabeth brown who went missing from ruskin
her birthday present which only just arrived that morning. Maria then went back into the car with her mother to go back into the dollar store.
While at the dollar store they saw Maria’s boyfriend, whose name I do not have yet, in his car in the parking lot.
He was with one of his friends. They waved to him and he waved back before they left the parking lot.
Maria got out of her mom’s car when they got home so she could go inside and get
her stepmother’s present before they went back to the dollar store again.
After she came back out she said, “I forgot my wallet.”
