The pandemic sent everyone into their homes for months at a time, so you’ve no doubt gone through all of your backlogs and replayed old favorites – and now you’re looking for some new games to try in the coming year. So we’ve gathered a few ideas here to spark some excitement for gaming in 2023.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Let’s start the list with the latest release from a classic. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is due to be released in May 2023, but there is still little known about the game. As the sequel, it will be set along similar lines to Breath of the Wild – but the implication is that it will be bigger and better. The tantalizing glimpses that Nintendo has shown hint at an adventurous world to explore with epic landscapes and a wide range of new puzzles. Breath of the Wild became a firm favorite, and it’s likely that this release from Nintendo will hit the same buttons.
Street Fighter 6
This is the first full Street Fighter game in seven years, and there are lots of changes. Producers Capcom are trying to reinvent the genre for fighting games with more realistic visuals, as well as new World Tour and Battle Hub modes to change how people play. They have apparently improved the Netcode, so there should be less latency; it is now easier for beginners to join in. If fighter games have never really appealed to you, then it’s worth having a peek at this one – the genre has changed enough that the game you disliked ten years ago has very little in common with the latest releases. If you’re a fan of this genre already, then this game is likely to become a firm favorite within a few hours of release.
Alan Wake 2
Hopefully, this will be one to enjoy in 2023. The sequel to 2010’s Alan Wake has been a long time coming, and there still isn’t a firm release date, but they’ve at least locked in 2023. We don’t know much about this release still, but it will follow the survival horror genre more than the original – so gamers are expecting a lot of jump scares and tense gameplay. Everyone has great expectations of this game from Remedy, given their stunning back catalogue, so it’s certainly worth keeping an eye out for the actual release of this game.
Online Casinos
There aren’t any brand-new releases in the world of online casinos, but they’re trending right now, so they’re worth having a go if you like gaming. One of the reasons they’ve become so popular is because you gain access to a wide number of different types of games – you can go quick and luck based with slots, or you can try a hardcore strategy with Poker. There are a huge number of online casinos you can choose to play on, so make sure you do your research and use a reputable one. You can take advantage of deals and free spins by looking at a website like www.freeextrachips.com to get yourself started with less of a commitment.
Everywhere
Last on the list, because so little is known, is Everywhere. This is a brand-new game which hints at multi-world exploration, with a large amount of creativity and adventure going into the gameplay. Producers Build a Rocket Boy have said that the game will redefine how players connect with each other and the digital world. It’ll be interesting to see how this game plays out when released.
