Michigan growers license requirements is one of the most cannabis-friendly states in the country, with a medical marijuana law that has been in effect since the early Nineties. The state legalized weed for adult use this November with Proposition 1, and now there are tons of opportunities to explore what Michigan growers have to offer!

But don’t get too excited — there are also some major mistakes you could be making when you go into a dispensary, as well as some mistakes you should avoid at all costs.

1. You’re buying the wrong strains

If you’re a Colorado or California cannabis consumer, you probably have a good idea of how specific strains compare to other strains. But Michigan consumers are going to want to make sure their budtenders understand which strain spectrum is right for them, since many different cabins talk about how they provide stress relief, how they’re best for sleep, and how they can be great during times of pain.

So make sure you know what type of high you want from your flowers so that you can ask the budtender what strain is going to fit your needs best.

2. You’re buying too much

During the first few months that Michigan legalized adult-use cannabis, it was pretty easy to go into a shop and walk out with bags full of weed. Since then, things have become more regulated, and now the only way you can get very high-quality flower is through a MMJ card.

And when you do get a MMJ card, there will be limits on how much flower you can have. It’s not worth trying to cut corners until you have your own card or clearance from your employer.

3. You’re not trying enough concentrates

Michigan allows a wide variety of concentrates, including tinctures, crumble, shatters, and wax. These products can contain THC levels as high as 81%, so they’re great for people who want to get very high without smoking.

On top of that, they come in several different forms — including marijuana oils that are designed to be used in edibles — so there’s really no excuse for anyone who wants to get some kind of THC or CBD.

4. You don’t know your oil from your vape

If you live in a state where you can only buy flower, it might seem like all you have to worry about is bud quality. But if you’re in Michigan and you’re trying to smoke concentrates, it’s a whole different ball game.

One of the biggest mistakes that many people make is using old vape pens with low batteries, or ones that aren’t meant to be used with cannabis products at all. It’s very easy to get so high that you could pass out, not be able to walk, or even have a seizure because of the extra amount of THC.

But if you’re using an oil pen that was designed for oils, there shouldn’t be any issues.

When you walk into a dispensary, you want to be sure that the budtender is going to be able to give you the best possible cannabis experience. So make sure they know what strain will work best for your desires so they can recommend it.
