How To Learn Photography Without Losing Your Mind :

1. Go analog

Maybe you want to play around with film and cameras, but don’t want to spend a lot of money. Well, that’s okay because you can! There are plenty of ways to do this without spending much money, leaving you with more cash for photo storage, which we’ll get into in a bit. Try asking your grandparents if you can have their old camera or go to thrift stores and buy one. Also, there are stores that sell used cameras at very little cost.

2. Join a photo course

If you’re a beginner, you may want to consider taking an online course or going to a class about photography. You’ll be able to learn the basics and maybe even some tips and tricks that you can apply right away!

If this is something you’re really interested in, take the time to find a good course and make sure the teacher knows their stuff before signing up. It’s worth paying a little bit more for quality, so if you only have $20 to spend on learning how to take better photos, make sure it’s spent wisely.

3. Learn as much as you can

If you have a lot of time on your hands, it may be time to invest in learning photography. This is what some photographers do so they have enough money to afford the gear that brings out their talent. There are plenty of free online resources online, such as videos and photo courses to take advantage of. 

There’s a vast amount of information out there, so take your time, read some articles and research how all the gear works just so you’re not left out in the dark with no knowledge about it when you’re ready to buy some new gear for yourself.

4. Take pictures

Well, duh. Obviously you need to take pictures to improve your photography! Try out different things and have a lot of fun with it. You’ll always learn better through experience, so just be creative and apply what you’ve learned from the articles and courses you’ve gone through. 

Again, maybe start with analog photography first before moving on to digital because it can help you understand how everything works without having to carry around heavy gear all the time.

5. Keep improving your gear

This is more for advanced photographers who are already making a good living off their photos or perhaps they just want to get into film photography again. If you’re doing well right now, you know that your gear is important to your success, so if you want to get better, invest in new gear. Buy a tier 1 camera system or some really good lenses so you can perform better. 

Just remember that having the best gear doesn’t necessarily make you the best photographer. Unless it’s your goal to always have the best equipment on the market, do what’s affordable for you and save up for more expensive gear when necessary.

6. Watch out for cameras at garage sales and flea markets

The great thing about older cameras is that they’re usually pretty cheap compared to their newer counterparts. If you have a piece of gear that’s no longer practical for you, consider selling it and buying something even cheaper to learn how to take better photos with. 

The same goes for outdoor equipment. If you’ve gotten some good stuff for yourself, like a car or a boat, sell them and buy something else that you can use in the future too just so you don’t have to waste money on things that won’t help your photography skills so much anymore.

7. Make films

Film is another great way to learn photography because it’s slower paced than digital and is actually more difficult than taking pictures in general! With film photography, the results are built up by making many exposures through developers after exposing the negatives into positives..
