If you’re like me, then you’ve probably gotten your hair cut at least a few times. So, what’s with all of these questions? Why do they all want to know if I’m looking for a new hair salon or if I’m going to cut my own hair for silk press vs relaxer? Do they need the information for something important? Is the fate of the world dependent on my hair?
No, it’s not that dire! But finding the right hairstyle just might be. And once you find that perfect haircut, it never hurts to have a good hairstylist in your back pocket (just in case).
1. The circle haircut.
The circle haircut is a hairstyle that you can get anytime…like a trim. No need to book an appointment, just go and get it done whenever you want–as if you were going to the salon. And that’s why I love it! It’s simple, yet stylish. The bangs are rounded as well, but much softer in contrast to the angle of the hair at the back of the head. The biggest issue with this haircut is that it doesn’t really give your hair any volume or body; it really just creates a good foundation for curls or flat ironing your locks.
2. The side part.
I think this one is the most common and maybe even the least stylish. I mean, I myself have tried it a few times, but it still didn’t look that great in the end–it just gave my hair a square shape instead of a side part with some volume or curl. I guess that’s why you’ve got to learn how to do it on your own!
3. The high fade haircuts .
This one looks pretty cool, but if you ask me, it’s not necessary for much besides the hair at the top of your head; which isn’t really all that important–unless you’re going for a mohawk , of course!
4. The fish tail braid.
This one is similar to the circle haircut, but with a bit more detail and much more feminine appeal. It’s great for long hair–maybe even slightly parted in the middle and tucked behind your ears! It’s the kind of look that really shows off your features and gives your face an extra dose of class. I love this hairstyle! 5. The bangs with layers .
This is another one of my personal favorites; though it’s slightly harder to do than the circle cut. I like this one because not only does it look great when completed, but all in all it’s just a really classy, sophisticated look!
6. The layered hair cut .
This works best for a round face, but if you have a long and thin face like me, then this style might not be so good for you. That being said, there are some great styles out there for those of us with long faces–even though I still think something with curls at the ends would make me look better.
7. The Pencil Haircut.
This is the one I’m currently wearing, and I like it! It’s not the most flattering, but it works well enough for my face. It’s short and sweet–just the way I like it. It may not be the most versatile haircut, but that doesn’t mean it affects your face; so if you want to experiment with this cut, go right ahead!

8. The side-swept bang .
This one is a little harder than the circle cut, but if you have short hair like me, I guess it’s not such an issue. It’s just that I really don’t like the way this looks on me; to be honest.
9. The Twists .
This hairstyle is beautiful for a girl with long hair–just imagine how stunning it would look on someone with super curly locks! This is another one of my favorites…sort of the best of both worlds: the side part for girls and the braid for guys; good luck finding a stylist who can do both!
10. The bangs , curtain style .
Picture it: long straight hair with long bangs. Your hair all hangs down, parted, and then curls up your face like a curtain. This would be so lovely! Just look at her face–not only is she gorgeously beautiful, but she’s got an awesome “fiery” look in those eyes! I’d love to do something like that to my hair…and maybe someday I will!
