In Overwatch, Hanzo has an ultimate ability called Dragonstrike. In the comic books, he utters a rather lengthy incantation before using it.

In the game, however, there is no such thing as a long line of dialogue to read – instead of speaking out loud Hanzo simply presses a button on his computer.

On this page we will look at what he says when he uses this powerful skill.

What does Hanzo say in Dragonstrike?

Players will notice that Hanzo’s voice changes when he is activating his ultimate. This is because when he activates Dragonstrike, this is when he speaks out loud the incantation from the comic books.

This is the only time that Hanzo speaks English in the game, so his voice does sound strange. With this in mind, his Japanese voice actor is unknown.

Hanzo’s Japanese voice actor is also unknown, but he speaks in Japanese for this short period of time.

If playing on PC, press the ~ button to bring up the console to hear what he says. Simply type in ” Hanzo ” and then press enter to hear his actual line of dialogue when activating Dragonstrike – but be aware that this also leaves a trail of Hanzo’s dragon behind him!

What does hanzo say when he activates dragonstrike?

The sentence spoken by Hanzo when activated is exactly the same as what he says in the game, even down to punctuation – which suggests that it is all recorded at once.

It is difficult to tell exactly what he actually says (there are no subtitles on the screen), but here are some translation notes:

“The six dragons of power stir once again Now, let us begin…” “Together, through our strength shall we bring destruction. Now, I shall show you how great my bow can be!” “Rise from this cursed ground!”

What does Hanzo say when he uses his dragonstrike?

As you can see above, the Japanese line of dialogue is exactly the same as the English one. This makes it easier to understand what he is trying to say in Japanese – note that there are no subtitles displayed in the game when Hanzo uses his ultimate.

This is a rough translation of what he says: “Now, let the six dragons of the Shimada clan awaken. Now I will show you how great my bow can be… Rise from this cursed ground!”

Players will notice that there is a significant difference between the comic books and the game in terms of how he uses Dragonstrike.

In the comic books Hanzo waves his hand over a map of Japan before drawing a dragon from his own body onto it.

He then makes it come alive with these words on his lips: “So speaks Shimada! Let this dragon strike all who oppose him!”

The dragon then appears on screen to destroy all enemies in its path. In the game, however, Hanzo calls a dragon to him and then fires a giant arrow at his target.

what does hanzo say when he ults

Do you know what Hanzo says when he uses dragonstrike? Blizzard has published a description of the voice line which Hanzo says in-game. You can find below that description:

“The Shimada family motto: ‘We strike first, and ask questions while bringing down lightning from the heavens. Be warned, the arrow will strike with unerring accuracy.'”

What does Hanzo say when he uses his dragonstrike?

Owing to the fact that many gamers use Hanzo’s voice line while playing other Overwatch characters – usually Soldier 76 – it is known that he actually says ” The Shimada clan motto:

‘We strike first, and ask questions while bringing down lightning from the heavens. Be warned, the arrow will strike with unerring accuracy.'”

So if you ever see other gamers play as Soldier 76 while speaking Japanese, here is what they are saying.

“The Shimada clan motto: ‘We strike first, and ask questions while bringing down lightning from the heavens. Be warned, the arrow will strike with unerring accuracy.'”

How does Hanzo know kenju?

In Overwatch comic books, Hanzo is a member of a secretive clan. This clan – the Star-Hoppers – have been around for centuries, and each heir to this clan has a talent that turns them into a mighty warrior.

The current Shimada clan leader is his father Genji Shimada , and Hanzo himself is known as their most powerful warrior. He is a deadly marksman with the bow and arrow, but he also has a range of other skills.

Hanzo is not your typical assassin – instead of being stealthy and elusive, Hanzo will walk slowly towards his enemy without fear. In this way he is able to get close enough to fire a shot from his bow before they have a chance to react.
